Went up to Heartland Park for an SCCA Track Night in America. Got progressively more brave over the crest they call “Alpha” to the point where I was staying completely flat. My RE71Rs we’re getting a bit greasy and I got greedy.

That’s what it looks like to spin at ~100mph. I don’t recommend it, it’s less than fun.

I ground looped my dads 240z race car going about 95 mph . It was not as scary as I would have thought, just pushed in the clutch and let’er spin. He freaked out seeing the cloud of dust from the side of the track tho. 10/10 do not recommend a flat spin at 100 mph.

As far as spins are concerned, yours was one of the best outcomes. You didn’t hit anything, no one hit you, and you don’t even have to clean out grass, sand or gravel from your underside (the car, not your shorts lol).

Yep. It’s what we say in our safety briefing at every autocross “if you spin, both feet it”. Once it’s gone don’t try to save it, just try to get the car slowed down.

There are so many ways that this could have gone badly....It could have hooked and gone inside. It could have snapped and gone outside. Either way it is a long slide on grass into a fixed object. Good job with the both feet in...... What treadwear tires do you have?
